I was lucky enough to purchase the last Golden from a litter, in a last minute whim. I had always wanted a Golden Retriever, but I had come in contact with multiple scammers and did not want to wait an entire year.
I must say that, at first, I was a bit skeptical given that I had connected with the breeder through a mainstream website. However, everything checked out and seemed to be in order — contact information, meet up location, and online information.
We met within 24 hrs of contact at the breeder’s residence, where my puppy was housed. I had a chance to meet with the puppy and fell in love immediately. The meet up was friendly, safe, and nothing skeptical. I was provided with the puppy, vaccine information and a bag of food. It is worth noting that the breeder agreed to meet on a Sunday on short notice to accommodate my schedule.
Upon arrival at the meet up location, the environment felt welcoming, friendly, and safe. The puppy was clean and in good condition. This too was verified by an independent veterinarian.
Later, I was able to verify the vaccine information with the vet and get a copy of it also. I had no issues whatsoever obtaining a copy of her medical and vaccine records. Everything checked out, through an independent veterinarian examination, and my puppy has a clean bill of health. The breeder even responded all my questions and concerns post-adoption. Overall, this was a great experience and I am so lucky to have a healthy and loving Golden.
