I boarded my 2 cats here for 9 days. It was my first time boarding them. Woofs and Whiskers was very responsive to emails requesting updates on how my cats were doing. I found the facility to be clean and the staff was friendly. I also found the pricing great. Especially compared to what other boarding places offer. What really won me over was that they let the cats out of the enclosures to stretch daily. No other facility I contacted offered that. I would use this business again, and would definitely recommend to anyone in need of boarding.

I sent my flat-coated retriever to Woofs n’ Whiskers for almost three years while living in Brooklyn Heights. This place is a godsend in New York City and is worth every penny. We sent our dog 2-3 times per week with round trip van service and it truly made owning a large, hyper dog in the city bearable. The staff is incredibly responsive and the facility is very clean and well organized. When schedules changed quickly, the staff was quick to respond and adapt. We never used the overnight boarding services, but there were several nights including in our monthly daycare package which was a generous offer. We moved out of the city and ultimately stopped sending our dog; however, the entire staff handwrote a card to our dog and gave her a special chew on her last day which was very sweet.

Feedback for Management would be: 1) van pick up / drop off window could be tighter and 2) more frequent updates on the dogs would be helpful (e.g. a web-cam feed of the yard)

They provided detailed information before I boarded my cats with them. The cat boarding area is clean and separate from the dog areas. The stay took place as described and they gave personal attention to my cats. My cats had adjoining cubes with their favorite food and toys.I was able to call and get a report whenever I wanted.

I was unable to even book a stay for my cats because of how difficult the process was made. I called months at a time to try to book a week long stay in August. I was told that it would be no problem as long as cats had the necessary vaccinations and medical tests. After taking them to vet, I tried to call and book a stay. I was then told it had to be done online. I filled out new client form online. I was then told they normally only book a couple of days in advance and their very busy. Bottom line: After jumping through every hoop they asked me to jump through, I was told they are booked up. I don’t know what the problem is with this place but I would stay away.

Seeing that they are still in business I am full of regret we didn’t sue this place. I will recount our experience from almost 20 years ago but remains fresh in my mind. After a 4 day stay we went to pick up our beloved dog Annie and find her lethargic and laying in her own urine soaked bed, What’s worse is that she had a serious injury to her eye, perfectly healthy when before, which had turned completely white. I asked what had happened and if she was treated by our vet– the manager on call that Sunday had zero answers. No one called the vet, no one removed her urine soaked bed or cleaned her up. For all we knew they just left her in her cage only to let something horrible happen to her eye. I refused to pay which the manager simply shrugged off. I demanded our deposit back which he was all too eager to provide. How telling in retrospect. It was clear this guy didn’t care. I immediately took her to our vet who said the only thing he could think would have caused it was trauma to her head. The eye needed to be removed.
After calling several times the following week for answers they had none. They did not care. We should have sued–instead, here they are 20 years later a thriving business.

We will never bring our dog here again. Not only did our pup need 20 stitches in her paw after she was boarded there, but they never even alerted us of the incident when it happened. We noticed the deep gash in her paw immediately when we got her home and had to reach out to Woofs and Whiskers to inquire about what happened.
Clearly they are not paying enough attention to what is happening at their facility, as our dog was visibly in pain and bleeding with an injury that clearly happened multiple days before we brought her home. It breaks my heart and is completely unacceptable, especially when paying top dollar to ensure our pet is in good hands.
