10/10 recommend Stage Gulch Goldens!! I started following them on Instagram 3 years ago after a friend got the most beautiful puppy I have ever seen from them. I had already been looking into breeders in Texas and surrounding states and planned on getting a pup close to home. After a short time of following Stage Gulch Goldens I realized Jake and Shayla are the best breeders you can hope to get a golden from. They genuinely care for their dogs and puppies and it’s evident in everything they do. A lot of breeders treat getting a dog like a business transaction and with Shayla it’s more personal about connecting you with the right puppy. They also do more training, temperament testing and socializing than any breeder I have heard of which really helps for transitioning the puppy into your home.
I got my little Crosby this past Sunday and it has been the best experience! Because they work with their puppies from the moment they are born, bringing Crosby home has been pretty seamless and he is picking up on training quick. Shayla has checked on me these past few days and it means so much to me to have such a caring breeder, who has made herself available while I’m navigating becoming a dog mom for the first time!

My puppy Frankie that I got from Stage Gulch Goldens has forever changed my life. He’s almost 4 months old and is so well trained thanks to the start at Stage Gulch. My local trainer in Nashville has been so impressed with how well adjusted he is at such a young age. He doesn’t scare at anything or anyone. This is due to the early socialization that Shayla does with all of her litters. She treats each puppy like one of her own. The training they do early on is such a help for the transition to home. Frankie has only had a couple of accidents and it was all my fault! I’m forever grateful to Shayla and Jake! They have the BEST dogs!

Shayla and Jake run an amazing small family breeding and training business at Stage Gulch Goldens! I have had the privilege of working there for over 6 months and the facilities are clean and safe at all times. The training that goes into the puppies starting at 3 days old really does make the best tempered English Cream Retrievers. They are also huge on Instagram and TikTok with training and dog information videos and live updates.
