Our puppy, 10 month old Mac, is the most amazing boy! He is gorgeous looking and has such a wonderful temperament. He gets a lot of attention from friends and strangers. Before I purchased Mac, Amy heavily vetted me and my family as appropriate owners, and I did the same for her as the breeder. Her place in Maine is dog heaven and it seems like no one loves dogs more than Amy. After we picked up Mac our vet checked him over and was very impressed by his early puppy care. Amy was honest and professional in every way. If we ever add another puppy to the family, I’ll be calling her.

We are absolutely thrilled with our new puppy, Duke. He is a healthy, happy and wonderful dog who was trained extremely well before we got him. Duke is so laid back and chilled and he’s only 10 months of age. Everyone we encounters says how beautiful and well-behaved he is. Amy with Signature Gold Goldens is very generous and amazing with her puppies and I”m so lucky we found her. She goes above and beyond other breeders especially with her care and training of all the puppies. I would highly recommend her to all my family and friends without question!!!

We highly recommend Amy and her beautiful, well-adjusted, well-loved, healthy puppies! Our Addie is almost a year old now and we couldn’t imagine a better dog for our family. She has a sweet disposition, a fun personality – she LOVES people as well as our 9 year old Golden. We found our experience with Amy as a breeder to be very easy, she’s efficient and thorough. Her kennel and facilities were so clean and well kept, we were very impressed. She also followed up with us after the first few days and even gave us some advice and tips – we can’t thank her enough for this wonderful new addition to our family!

We purchased a puppy from Signature Gold Goldens in February of 2008. He came with a health guarantee. After having him for 6 months, he was diagnosed with moderate hip dysplasia. When I contacted Amy, the breeder, about this she did nothing to help. I asked for a partial refund, but she refused. The best she could do was take my dog back, which I wasn’t willing to do. I conducted a lot of research to try to determine the status of the dam’s hips, but her status wasn’t listed on the OFA website (this was fishy). I did find the status of the sire’s hips (from a different kennel). Amy would not provide me with written documentation of the dam’s hip status from OFA. She offered to show my dog’s hip x-rays to her vet, but once she received them, she wouldn’t show them to him or give me his name so I could communicate with him myself. My dog is 9 now and will probably not live to a ripe old age. In addition to bad hips, he has several other health issues, some of which are likely genetic (hereditary) according to my vet. He has dilated cardiomyopathy (his heart is enlarged and does not pump efficiently), protein-losing nephropathy (a kidney disease that causes him to lose protein through his urine), gall bladder disease, liver disease, and hypothyroidism. He has always been fed high quality food and had excellent veterinary care. So much for a health guarantee. Beware of the contract with this breeder! Make sure the health guarantee is clear and you know what you are entitled to if your dog gets sick. And make sure you get copies of all of the documentation for the sire and dam (OFA hip documentation – NOT PRELIMINARY RESULTS!!!) Learn from my mistake. I fell in love with a cute puppy and didn’t insist on getting copies of this important documentation. Now I will probably lose my sweet boy long before I should.
