Shoal Creek Puppies (Exeter, Missouri)

shoal creek was amazing! we are from georgia and made the 24+ hour round trip drive to pick up our jade. totally worth it, she is so cute and has the best temperament. She did so good on the long car ride too, no accidents and slept the entire way. the purchasing process can be a little intimidating at first, especially since we live far away, but shoal creek was super helpful along every step of the way and I am so glad I purchased from them!!!! plus it was a cute road trip to missouri, highly recommend!!!

We absolutely love our little Wrigley! He has been the best addition to our family! So smart, SO sweet and gentle. I wished we would’ve got a Goldendoodle sooner! Shoal Creek has been nothing but amazing answering all of my questions and really just good friendly people!

We had been looking for a doodle for about a month and couldn’t find any that were reasonable or close by. We happened to be driving from Omaha to Arkansas for a long weekend when we heard about Shoal Creek. We asked if we could stop by on a Saturday morning to look at a few dogs and they were happy to let us. We fell in love with 2 of the dogs and it took us forever to decide which one to get. We finally chose and said we would be back in a few days to pick it up. I was impressed with how organized and professional they were to work with. It did take a little while for them to respond some times but with the amount of puppies they have it’s understandable to be busy. We were still able to set up a visit within a day. We are very pleased so far with out mini golden doodle and we’re extremely happy with our experience!

Don’t go here! We bought what we thought was a micro mini golden doodle. Our dog was a mini and we payed $250 more for a smaller dog. They never responded to my email. Our dog is now 1 1/2 and has a bad temperament. He is not good with little kids at all. We are unfortunately now at the position of rehoming him cause he isn’t a good fit but they won’t even respond to my emails. Stay as far away from here as possible. They honestly need to be shut down as it’s obvious they are overbreeding which is causing issues with their animals!
To their response. They obviously got my email and never responded back. We did purchase a micro per the contract but he isn’t a micro. Also, 2 emails were sent about the temperament and of course those were ignored also. They can respond and lie on a review but not to the actual persons emails. Stay away!!

I bought a Siberian huskey puppy from these people about a month ago. She is a good dog. But since the day I brought her home she has had diarrhea. I have tried imodium ad, pepto, rice diet, and changed dog food two times still no change. It’s at Christmas time and I cant afford a vet right now. But u would think when you pay $650.00 for a dog it would be healthy. My advice dont buy from them. I called them a week after I bought her. They never would call me back. I guess all they care about is getting their money.

My experience was a bad one.
For many months I planned to bring home my new best friend from Shoal Creek. I should have listened to my gut and all the red flags that kept telling me not to do this.
To begin, I was attracted to Shoal Creek’s beautiful slick website and Instagram page that showed adorable goldendoodle puppies almost on a daily basis. However, the website was not transparent like most respectable breeders. The parents of the puppies were never displayed or discussed.
Against my better judgement I sent a $500 deposit to Shoal Creek to secure a future puppy. During the following months of waiting after sending in my deposit, responses to texts, phone calls and emails were rarely returned which left me fearful and frustrated that I might have made a poor decision in choosing this breeder. Finally, I received a call saying that my puppy was ready to come home to me. I spoke with Suzy about driving from New Orleans to southern Missouri versus shipping the puppy. She said most people get their dog shipped for a price of $450. I chose to make it into a fun road trip and drove to Missouri.
When I arrived my heart sunk. The conditions were poor. The puppy was filthy and she was shaking. I knew something was wrong. There were no other puppies or adult dogs/parents in sight. I could not even hear other dogs. After insisting to see the parents of this puppy they reluctantly brought them out to me separately. I could not believe what I was seeing. They both were filthy, shaking uncontrollably and cowering to the ground. The mother “Golden Retriever” did not seem full bred. She could not even stand up straight. She was shaking and seemed malnourished. The same with the father “Small poodle”. He was filthy and shaking and looked malnourished.
I was numb and shocked and disappointed in myself that I had made such a bad decision and used poor judgement in proceeding with the purchase of this puppy and driving all the way to Missouri from New Orleans. I decided to walk away and leave without the puppy. I knew that it was such a long term life decision.
After arriving back home in New Orleans about a week later, I requested my $500 be returned to me. Esther Pointer refused to return my deposit.
I hope this helps anyone who has had an experience with Shoal Creek or is contemplating purchasing a future puppy from them.
