I don’t know where to begin to describe the absolutely incredible, indescribably wonderful Moonlit Labradors. We lost our 15 year-old Lab in March, and after a few months of grieving, we decided to get two new “sons,” but our old breeders had retired. One of their Lab club’s members led me to Susan Bennington at Moonlit. Let me tell you, I thought I knew all there was to know about Labradors after 15 years, but I knew nothing compared to the deep knowledge that Susan and her husband John have. In the weeks leading up to picking up our first baby, Susan sent us a TON of information on every subject you could possibly need to know about raising a Lab puppy–or ANY puppy, for that matter. On top of that, Susan took photos and videos for almost 8 SOLID WEEKS, several days a week, of the development of the puppies, and posted them on a Google Drive for us to keep for our “baby book.” WHO DOES THAT?! Then, when we drove up to pick up our first pup, we spent HOURS talking to Susan, getting the full tour of her place–which is a HOME, not an office building on a patch of land– and then meeting every single one of her dogs, not just the parents of our pup, but ALL of her dogs. Again, WHO DOES THAT?! Then, we sat in her kitchen filling out paperwork, and inside her house she must’ve had at least 12 dogs, AND two litters of puppies. You could’ve heard a pin drop. No barking, no craziness. Only an ocean of wagging tails and smiling faces. These dogs were HAPPY. They were CONTENT. They were…LOVED, and they knew it. Susan and John’s house is warm, loving, peaceful and welcoming. They make you feel like you’re an old friend visiting. Then, when we got home, Susan called us the next day to see how our first night went. That’s the mark of a caring person. She really wants you and your puppy to be happy. Business-wise? OMG, the woman is THOROUGH with a capital T, and, she explains everything you are getting with your purchase; what medical tests were done, why, and where, not to mention all of the AKC registering info, microchipping, etc. And, Moonlit is SO reasonably-priced. It’s one of the reasons we decided to get 2 puppies! Bottom line, Moonlit Labradors is THE best Labrador Breeder in the US, as far as I’m concerned. Getting a new family member is a big step, whether you’re a first-time dog owner or a lifelong doggie parent. Moonlit Labradors will not only provide you with the most beautiful, healthy and smart puppy, but they will be there for you for the rest of your dog’s life. What else could you possibly ask for?
