Barb and the entire team at Heartland are wonderful to work with!! I’d 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a healthy, affectionate, well behaved pup. You can tell my Max was raised with love and care from the beginning; he is affectionate, intelligent and so easy to train! He is the perfect addition to our family.

Could not have had a better experience. First time buying from a Breeder. Barb & Co here are so helpful, top notch AKC registered recommended ethical breeder. Our Coton de Tulear puppy is perfect. He will make a great service dog for me. Wonderful Temperament, looks, intelligence, calmness, just everything. You won’t be sorry dealing with Heartland Classics.

We have purchased two Wheaten Terriers from this family owned breeder. We love this non-shedding, playful , intelligent breed and chose an older male (18 weeks) they had named Dexter. We gave him a forever home and re named him Seamus Finnigan Haggen. Here he is mountaineering in the Black Hills two weeks after we brought him home.

Please do more research before purchasing from them. We bought a portuguese water dog from them 5 years ago. He is beautiful and we love him dearly, however, at 2 years old we noticed he was hopping while running. We took him to our vet and got xrays of his hips and legs. Diagnosis: Bilateral Hip Dysplasia. When buying an AKC purebred dog…make sure that the parents are aldo Osteo-Hip Certified. We learned this is a separate certification that eliminates the chance for such problems. Our dog did not have this certification. And our dog only had a one year warranty and our Vet told us that any problems like hip dysplasia are found around 2 years of age. I’m assuming Heartland knew this. Our dog doesn’t act like an energetic young dog of 5, instead he’s more like a dog of 10-15 years old because of his hips. We would never give up our doggo, however, paying a hefty price for a dog that will end up needing bilateral hip replacements isn’t really worth the money. Just be careful.

We purchased a Coton de Tolear from Heartland. They arranged flights from Omaha to Denver. For an unknown reason, they routed our little ‘Luna’ through Chicago … where she was stuck in her kennel for a 12 hour layover … when there were direct flights from Omaha to Denver available …. not acceptable.

At the suggestion of our Vet, we had a DNA sample examined … it came back as 12% Chihuahua. Thus, her great grandfather was a … Chihuahua? Unexpected.

Lastly, our little puppy suffers from patellar luxation in both hind legs.

We love our little puppy and she is family forever with us … just … not cool dealing with Heartland. Given the above, I simply have no trust in them whatsoever.
