We picked up our Zu in august 2020, and she was the best. Our baby girl was amazing – from day 1 she had the biggest heart, never growled at or had issues with kids or other dogs. Incredible amount of energy, and an appetite to match. Loved being with people and snuggled all night long. She was the absolute best.
Unfortunately there is a lot of ‘had’ and ‘was’ in that paragraph. She developed Megaesophagus, and after running every test (literally every test we could) and trying every medication and feeding technique in the book we finally had to let her go. All culprits were ruled out and after discussing with a couple of vet specialists it came down to something “likely genetic”.
2 years was far too short for such a spectacular pup. Absolute spectacular, great looking and every bit of caring as the owner had said she would be. Just heart breaking the way it ended. I won’t say there is anything wrong with the dogs, but given the other reviews of genetic issues I wanted to share my experience.
She is deeply missed
