Citipups (New York, New York)

After losing our tiny Chihuahua of almost 20 years, my fiance and I were on the lookout for a very similar Chi to add to our family. The hunt was grim for nearly 1 year, until we discovered Citi Pups. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional during the whole process. The dogs all appeared very happy, clean and treated well. We flew cross country and the staff made sure we were set to travel back to the Westcoast the following day, with a small supply of food, pads, and her favorite toys. She has been a joy ever since. She is smart, healthy and so full of character and just what we were looking for!

One additional thing to note…the shop takes multiple payment options upon checkout, so if you are looking to pay some on credit, some cash etc.. really making the process easy and seamless.

I love citipups! I’ve gotten a few dogs from them and they all have wonderful personalities and are very healthy and happy fur babies! The store is kept very clean as well as the puppies and they use a very reputable veterinary hospital for their routine care. Everyone at citipups has been very nice and more than willing to answers whatever questions I had about the puppies. I tell everyone where I got my babies from!

We were hesitant at first to get a dog from a puppy store, but CitiPups was a great experience. The staff was so helpful and really care about the pups. They provided the medical history and breeder info before any paperwork was signed and was transparent throughout the whole process. We could not be happier with our little guy!

Do NOT support this puppy mill pet store. My sister bought a sweet puppy from here and unknown to her the puppy was sold to her being sick with distemper and kennel cough. Distemper is a fatal devastating neurological disease. Her puppy died weeks after purchasing from citipups. This place only cares about money. They are greedy and have no concern for the puppies well being.

They steal your money. Most of the dogs are poorly treated. Left by the window in cold NYC winter nights. We paid advance for a puppy who we were planning to name soho. After paying 1000$ for the puppy and we were to pick up puppy in a week from there according to them the puppy had common cold. Week turned into month of stay at that place the dog wasn’t having much of improvement. At this point we were not sure if they were lying one month stay with the excuse of common cold starting to feel wired so we asked for refund. At which they agreed with us over the phone to refund. When we reach there the talk was different. Norman changed his promise and started to be very disrespectful. And Emilio doesn’t have to be reminded of his behavior. I hope bar on east side reminds if his actions. wolf in sheep’s clothing. Be careful with this shop as a whole. Norman is going to tell you what you want to hear to sell dog. For them nothing matters except that money.

This review serves as an update to my previous review which gave them 5 stars based on my initial sales experience. Unfortunately, I soon found out after an immediate visit to the vet that the puppy sold to us was infected with Giardia! They basically sold us an infected puppy without any disclosure. Our puppy has gone through 4 courses of therapy so far and still hasn’t cleared the Giardia. Our other puppy has also been forced into isolation to avoid getting infected. Definitely be aware of their sales practices before you buy a puppy from CITIPUPS!!!
