My family decided to purchase one of their pups for our sons. It was a great experience from the first phone call. Mike was always friendly and willing to set up times that I could visit our pup. He explained everything very thoroughly so I knew exactly what vaccines and shots she needed next.
When it came time to bring her home, she was so content. She is very calm and she she is so obedient already. And she’s been really great with potty training.
I will definitely recommend Cedar River Labs to anyone who wants a great family pet.

My yellow lab is 4 years old this past December. She is the best dog I’ve ever had in my life. Very mellow, loves everyone, never any problems with her, and very healthy. Excellent breeder who loves his dogs. Breeder posts photos and videos of his dogs out on runs and happily playing. Highly recommend this breeder. Mike is the best!

Was supposed to get a yellow female lab puppy from them. Talked to owner multiple times. They ghosted me and deleted their posting about the puppies.

Where do I begin? I can’t even rate this because it’s that pathetic and wrong. This past June I was in contact with Mike (owner of Cedar River Labs) in regards to a female, yellow/white lab. We placed a $200 deposit at the time with Mike to secure a dog that was promised for early September. On August 5th, 2021 my step-daughter and I went to Mike’s house to visit and pick out a female yellow lab. We even took pictures with the puppy that we picked out. Mike ensured a pick up date for a puppy on September 7th, 2021. My fiancé and I were on our way Tuesday morning (Sept 7th) to pick up our dog when Mike called me stating “we have an issue, I put a red collar on your female dog by accident which would indicate the dog was a male and gave her to an elderly lady last night who actually wanted a male lab. Don’t worry I’m going to make this right. I’ve been trying to call her all morning.” At this point I was already seeing red flags in this situation as Mike claims he’s been in this business for 20 years, that’s a huge mistake to make. Mikes story quickly changed when my fiancé contacted him later that morning/early afternoon when Mike stated “he said he gave it to another couple. They were at work and he was waiting to hear back from them” He again, ensured us he would make it right and we would be hearing from him around 5 pm. We never heard from Mike, actually he ignored several of our phone calls and text messages. The following morning he finally responded with saying he had another litter of puppies we could have pick of the litter from, basically admitting he sold our dog to another family and thinking he could make it right by offering another puppy from a different litter. After reading the reviews we realized we should have read them before entertaining the idea of purchasing a dog from this breeder seeing a similar situation has been experienced before. The negative reviews are legitimate and this breeder is a full
blown liar. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for those interested in a lab. Do not do business with this breeder, you’ll be wasting your time and be disappointed!!
